Learn how to make delicious Restaurant Style 'Matar Paneer' at home with our chef Sonali Raut<br /><br />Matar paneer, also known as mattar paneer, and mutter paneer is a vegetarian North Indian dish consisting of peas and paneer in a tomato-based sauce, spiced with garam masala. It is often served with jeera rice and Butter Naan.<br /><br />Try this recipe with its combination and let us know in the comment section below.<br /><br />Ingredients for Paste:<br />(Serves 4)<br />- 2 tbsp Oil<br />- 2 Onions(chopped)<br />- 8 Garlic Cloves<br />- 1 inch Ginger<br />- 3 Tomatoes(chopped)<br />- 1/4 cup Cashew Nuts<br />- 1/2 cup Water<br /><br />Ingredients for Matar Paneer:<br />- 2 tbsp Oil<br />- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds <br />- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder<br />- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder<br />- 1 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder<br />- 1 tsp Garam Masala<br />- 1 tsp Fenugreek Leaves Powder<br />- 1 1/2 cup Green Peas(boiled)<br />- Salt<br />- 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup<br />- 1 cup Water<br />- 150 gms Paneer(cubes)<br /><br />Method:<br />1. Take oil in a pan and let it heat<br />2. Now, add roughly chopped onions to it and saute it till the onions slightly change its color<br />3. Add garlic cloves, ginger, chopped tomatoes, cashew nuts and 1/2 cup water to the pan and saute it <br />4. Cover the pan with its lid and let it cook for around 5 minutes, so the tomatoes become soft<br />5. Let this mixture cool down and add some water and grind it, to make the paste<br />6. Take a pan again and heat it<br />7. Add oil to it and let it heat <br />8. Now, add cumin seeds, and once the cumin seeds have spluttered, lower the heat<br />9. Start adding red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander seeds powder, garam masala, fenugreek leaves powder and saute it <br />10. Now, add in the paste that was made earlier and mix it <br />11. After mixing add in boiled green peas(matar) and mix it <br />12. Add salt and tomato ketchup, and mix it <br />13. Now, add 1 cup water; mix it and wait till it boils <br />14. Once it starts boiling, add paneer to the gravy <br />15. Mix it and let it cook for around 5 minutes <br />16. Once cooked, take it out in a serving bowl and serve it hot
